DEATH CLAIMS CHARLES ROUSH

Highly Respected Resident Dies at Home of His Son Here

Charles Roush, aged 87 years, highly respected resident, passed away Monday
evening at 7:30 o'clock in the home of his son, W. H. Roush, 315 Merchant
street. He was born September 20, 1844, and followed farming the greater part of
his life. He lived for many years in the Ohio Valley near New Haven. W. Va.

The deceased leaves four children, W. H. Roush and G. M. Roush, well known local
business men; W. V. Roush, of Letart, W. Va.; Mrs. George Smith, 116 McKinney
street this city. His wife, formerly Mis Sarah Francis Wright, died February 22,
1904.

The deceased was the eldest of twelve children of the late George and Susan
Roush. Two sisters and three brothers survive, Mrs. Francis Ohlinger and Mrs.
Henry Rickard, live in Huntington, and the brothers, Mart Roush, Thomas and J.
Wesley Roush, live at New Haven, W. Va. The deceased was a member of the United
Brethren Church at New Haven and he lived a good Christian life.

Several grandchildren survive, including George Harold Roush and Mrs. Mary Irene
Higinbotham, Wade Rouse, Jr., and Mary Frances Roush, Mrs. Helen V. Monegan,
Mrs. Phyllis Jones, Harry A. Roush.

Mr. Roush came here about thirty-five years ago. He belonged to an early pioneer
family and was a great grandson of George Roush, who was a soldier in the
Revolutionary War. Mr Rouse was a man of many fine qualities.

The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock with services at the
Jones funeral home. Burial will be made in Woodlawn cemetery.
