(this info is about a Sterrett) "Hardesty" shows an early William STERRETT, who purchased land from william TROTTER (son of ANN BAILEY) and the first Clerk of Mason Co. WV and served 27 years. Is said to have died 1850. The PRIESTLY children were sons of James and Mary who were residing in GALLIA CO. OHIO 1891 when MARY relinquished her interest in this property to her sister, AGNES C. CLENDENIN. she had received the land through the will of her father, Washington Sterrett and it was adjacent to the Stephen K. VAUGHT farm.
