The Stone Family Cemetery is located on a bluff above Thirteenmile Creek about one mile downstream from the Rock Castle Church, To reach the cemetery, you will turn off the road up the creek at To Verrnon Wayne Stone and Buck Shinn's place which is a short distance from the confluence of Big Spruce Run with Thirteenmile Creek. The West Virginia Patriarch and Matriarch of the Stone Family, George and Lucinda Miller Stone, are buried at the King Cemetery at Ripley. But the father and grandfather of most of the Stones of Union and Cologne Districts, John Wesley Stoen, is interred here along side of Elizabeth See and Lucretia Pratt who were the mothers of his many Children. The burals are: Shinn, Trivia Carol Stone 1942-1997, daughter of Vernon and Ethel Livingston Stone. Sayre, John Labon 1892-1995 son of Daniel and Nancy King Sayre daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth Jacobs King. John is husband of Lucretia Stone Sayre. Sayre, Luctetia Stone 1895-197?, daughter of Reuben and Iantha Dunham Stone and husband of John Labon. Stone, Iantha Dunham 1878-1963, daughter of Jesse and Sara Francis Barr Dunham and husband of Reuben Stone. Iantha also married Tom Pullins and John Sarver. Reuben Stone 1869-1934, son of John Wesley and Lucretia Pratt Stone and husband of Iantha. Stone, Vernon 1918-1993, son of Reuben and Iantha and husband of Ethel Livingston. Stone, Mary Ethel Livingston daughter of James Austin Livingston and husband of Vernon. Barr, Ray Edward 7/21/1947-8/17/1947, infant Grandson of John Laban Sayre. Shinn, Zane 1/1/1997 Father-in-law of Trival Carol? Wilcox, Ina Minerva Stone, 10/3/1903-8/1983, daughter of Reuben and Iantha. She maried 1st-Walter Lee King Sr.; 2nd Delbert Casdorph; 3rd Harry Brentford Carte. Stone Virginia "Virgie" 1907-1213/1917 daughter of Reuben and Iantha. Virgie had spinal mengitus. Stone, Infant Son 10/4/1903-10/4/1903 son of Reuben and Iantha and twin of Ina Minerva. Sayre, Viola 1930-1931, daughter of John Laban and Lucretia. Stone, John Wesley 1929-1907, son of George and Lucinda Stone. Stone, Elizabeth See 1829-1861, first wife of John Wesley. Her family came from Germany and settled at Schohari, N.Y. prior to 1710. The original name was Zeh or Zah. Stone, Lucretia Pratt 1845-1891, second wife of John Wesley. Stone, Wesley 7/1854-9/8/1868m, son of John Wesley and Elizabeth See. Stone, Mary Jane Harrison Stone 1839-1905, wife of James Stone. Stone, James 1864-1945, son of John Wesley and Lucretia Pratt. Stone, "Byrd" Elias Ichabod, 1858-1931, son of John Wesley and Elizabeth See. Stone, Hollie 1877-1906 Stone, Benjamine E. 1885-1888 Stone, Minor 1879-1935 Stone, Fred Miller 1855-1929 Stone, Mary B. Sayre 1856-1935 Stone, Eliza 1883-1884 King, Olive Luverna Stone, daughter of John Wesley and Luctretia Pratt. Her stone is in the cemetery, but she was moved to Grandview Cemetery at Dunbar, WV by her husband George Leonard King. "Vernie" died of TB and left two litlle girls: Thelma and Garnet.
