Greer Cemetery, Mason County, WV ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Submitted for use in the USGenWeb Tombstone Project, April, 2005 by Veva Scott Copyright - All Rights Reserved ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Greer Cemetery. Located on Greer Road. When heading southeast on Greer Road, Greer Cemetery will be on your left. You will have to either make a sharp left turn (almost a U-turn) into the cemetery or go up the road a piece to find a suitable place to turn around. (The latter I recommend) The driveway is fairly steep and slightly muddy for those of us that are used to driving in flat areas such as Florida. Be careful exiting the property. It is on a bend in the road and you may meet a oncoming vehicle. I made it in a Saturn L300 wagon. The cemetery was in above average condition. It was obviously maintained. The perimeter was fenced. I found it easy to get around. My aunt was with me and she seemed to do well with a walking stick. I want to say, if someone was in a wheel chair, they shouldn’t have a problem. But keep in mind that there are some unexpected holes and know that some of the plots have indentations where the earth has settled. One thing I thought was interesting. There was an outhouse on the property. I don’t know if that was new or temporary.
