From McDowell County Courthouse, Deed Book, page 150 David Muncy (Original page 223) To Deed James M. French This deed made and entered into this 13th October 1879 by David L. Muncy of the county of McDowell state of West Virginia of the first part and James M. French of the county of Bland and State of Virginia of the second part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of services hereto fore rendered me by the said James M. French as attorney at law, I hereby give grant and convey to said James M. French all the tract of land on which I now reside containing one hundred and twenty acres situated in McDowell County on and between the two Slaunch Branches tributaries of the Dry Fork of Tug River including all the land between the 2 Slaunch branches and running with the same on the ridge it being the same land deeded by Daniel Harman to said David Muncy on the 3rd day of April 1872 which is recorded on page 291 Deed book No 2.
