Bluefield Daily Telegraph McDowell Co. WV 1915 Charleston Mail March ``18, 1915 GOVERNOR EXTENDS PARDON Frank Rodona, McDowell Man, Gets Executive Clemency Up at the convict road camp at Snow Hill a surprise was given Frank Radona yesterday afternoon when he was informed that the governor had pardoned him. Radona had served almost 4 years of his five-year sentence. He is of Thomas, but he was sent to the penitentiary for manslaughter from McDowell County. His good behavior both at the penitentiary and since he has been such as to recommend him for clemency, and, furthermore, he has had charge of all the important masonry done on the new road. He has never shirked a moment since he began serving his sentence, and the good he has accomplished about Snow Hill will remain as lasting evidence of his handiwork. He built the heavy bridge work of concrete and shaped all the arches. In fact, he has been an invaluable hand ever since the work on the roads was started by convict labor almost one year ago.
