Know all men by their presents:
That we U.G. Cole, principle And Joseph D. Cole, surety, are held and 
firmly bound unto the state of West Virginia in the just and full sum of 
fifteen hundred dollars, to the payment whereof well and truly to be made 
we bind ourselves and each of us binds his heirs, executors and 
administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by those presents. Sealed 
with our seals and dated 5th day of October, 1915. The condition of the 
above obligation is such that whereas the above bound U.G. Cole, has this 
day been appointed Administrator of the estate of A.W. Cole, deceased, with 
the will annexed.
Now therefore, if the said U.G. Cole shall faithfully discharge the duties 
of his said office and shall account for and pay over as required by law 
all money which may come into his hands by virtue of said appointment then 
this obligation to be void; else to remain in full force and virtue.

The above document makes no mention of their Sister Florilla Beau Cole 
Shannon, widow of Charles Wesley Shannon. Documentation supports that June 
14, 1916 (8 months later) she was placed in the Huntington State Hospital 
By U.G. Cole and papers reveal, "Family states she is insane" Her 
diagnosis recorded as "epileptic'
