Archibald Farley Grant, 1838 ARCHIBALD FARLEY - 50 ACRES - MERCER CO., VA - 11/30/1838 David Campbell Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these presents shall come; Greetings: Know ye, that in conformity with a survey, made on the 28th day of April 1838 by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 3739 there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto ARCHIBALD FARLEY a certain tract or parcel of land, containing fifty acres situated in Mercer County. Beginning at a hickory on a point near a spring and running North 57 1/2 degrees South 60 poles to a chestnut on DREWRY FARLEY’s line, thence North 4 degrees West 410 poles to a chestnut oak North 55 degrees West 60 poles to two chestnuts, thence South 7 degrees West 206 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land, with its appurtenances, to the said ARCHIBALD FARLEY and his heirs forever.
