Witnesseth that that (sic) the said Jacob Hager and Sarah his wife for --- in consideration of one dollar in hand paid by the above named Alem and James Hager the receipt where of they do hereby acknowledge hath this day bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargan sell and confirm unto the above named Alem & James Hager their heirs or assigns one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Tazewell and on the waters of the hunting camp fork of Wolf Creek and bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at three white oaks spruce pine and maple at the edge of the bottom on the south side side (sic) of said fork about 12 rods above a high slate bank N58W 100 poles crossing said fork to a large whit oak fir maples and a crabtree N25E 65 poles crossing two branches to three white oaks in a bushy flat N68E 140 poles to a triple dogwood and buckey at the foot of a hill N12E 34 poles to a white oak an three dogwoods on a very rocky hill side S27E 140 poles crossing said fork to a stake and thence S50W 200 poles to the beginning - to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all its appertainances unto the said Alem & James Hager their heirs or assigns for the proper use and behoof - the said Alem and James Hager their Heirs and forever and the said Jacob Hager and Sarah his wife for themselves their heirs executors administrators the said tract or parcel of land with all its appertainances unto the said Alem & James Hager unto their Heirs doth and will warrant and forever defend against the claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said Jacob Hager & Sarah his wife hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written. Jacob Hager Sarah Hager Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us Peter Dills Hickman Powers In Tazewell County Court 25 April 1822 This deed of Bargain and sale from Jacob Hager and Sarah his wife to Alem Hager & James Hager was acknowledged in Court by the said Jacob Hager as his act and deed and ordered to be recorded.
