Witnesseth that the said Alem Hager & Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Ninety Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof the said Alem Hager & Elizabeth his wife do hereby acknowledge hath bargained sold and by these presents doth bargain sell grant and confirm unto the said Eahart Suiter one certain tract or parcel of Land lying on the hunting Camp fork of Wolf Creek containing Seventy five acres be the same more or less being one half of a one hundred and fifty acre survey made the 15th day of November 1820 for Jacob Hager pattent the 2nd day of August 1821 to the said Jacob Hager and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at 3 white oaks spruce pine & maple at the edge of a bottom of the south side of said fork about 12 rods above a high slate Bank N58 W 100 poles crossing said fork to a large white oak five maples and crabtree N25 E 65 Poles crossing 2 branches to 3 white oaks in a bushy flat N 68 E 80 poles to a stake thence leaving said line S32 E 112 poles to a stake on an open line thence S 50 W 95 poles to the beginning to have and to hold the said parcel of land together with all the appurtenances to the sole use and behoof of the said Eahart Suiter and his heirs forever which the said Alem Hager and Elizabeth his wife for themselves and their heirs will forever Warrant and defend the said parcel the claim of themselves and their heirs & against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever Witness whereof the said Alem Hager and Elizabeth his wife hath hereunto set their hands and seals this day and date above written. Bailey Justices of the peace in and for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that Alem Hager a party to a certain deed bearing date the 3rd day of October 1838 and hereto personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgment to he Clerk of the County Court of Tazewell in order that the said Deed may be Recorded and we do further certify that Elizabeth Hager wife of the said Alem & parties to the deed aforesaid personally appeared before me and being examined by us privily and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her she declared that she had willingly signed and did acknowledge the same and that she wished not to retract it.
