All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/wv/wvfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jan Kuhn kuhn_j@firn.edu August 31, 2011, 3:00 pm Mercer County Written: March 4, 1857 Recorded: March 14, 1857 Mercer County Virginia Deed Book 4 page 416 Know all men by these presents that we Buckhanon Means & Polly Means this day bargained & sold --- by these presents bargain sell & convey all our eighth title & claim to a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Mercer & state of Virginia on lead of Brush Creek which was deeded from Samuel Davidson to Elizabeth Hager for and in consideration of the sum of $15.00 & his interest in said certain tract of land in Tazewell County Virginia on the Clear fork of Wolf Creek & do hereby assign all our right title interest or claim to said land unto Greenville Hager his heirs & assigns forever & do by these presents warrant & defend the same against our heirs & assigns forever. In Witness whereof we have each signed our names and affixed our seals the 4th day of March 1857. Buckhanon Means Polly X (her mark) We the undersigned Justice of the Peace for Pike County do hereby certify that the above deed was signed after examination in our presence the date above. David Robinson JP Jeremiah Brown Pike County Court to wit: I Solomon K. Dawson Clerk of the Pike County Court for the County and state aforesaid do hereby certify that David Robinson & Jeremiah Brown are acting Justices in Pike County & duly authorized to perform all the duties lawful for Justices of the Peace to perform.
