Perdue and Rhoda his wife of the one part and Zachariah Perdue of the other part. WITNESSETH that the said David K. Perdue and wife for the consideration of three hundred dollars heretofore paid doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Zachariah Perdue all of their rights and title to a certain parcel of land containing three hundred acres be it the same more or less lying in the County of Mercer and State of Virginia. Beginning on Parker's corner running South west sixty poles to a Maple in William Perdue's old Mill Dam then down the branch one hundred poles to a spruce pine then East two hundred and fifty poles to a spruce pine at the fork of Mill Creek then a straight line thirty poles to an ironwood, a corner of the Perdue and Smith survey (patent), then a straight line to a chestnut where John Smith had draw bars on top of the ridge which is nearly South from the ironwood then west of South near one hundred poles a straight line to Elizabeth Thompson's corner a double white oak then East with Booth's marked line sixty two poles to a lynden and dogwood on the bank of Bluestone then down with the river to the mouth of Mill Creek then north 27 west thirty nine poles to a white oak then South 65 West thirty poles to a maple corner of Perdue and Smith's survey (patent) then a straight line to the said ironwood then N 25 W 207 poles to a double gum sapling, white oak, speckled oak and chestnut oak, a corner to a 450 acre survey for Zachariah Perdue, with the line thereof west straight to the beginning. Witness the following hands and seals. David (his X mark) Perdue (seal Rhoda (her X mark) Perdue (seal) Virginia, Tazewell County to Wit: I, William R. Bane, Justice of the Peace for the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do certify that David K. Perdue whose name is signed to the writing hereunto annexed bearing date on the 31st day of July 1858, acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid. Given under my hand this 31st day of July 1858. Wm. R. Bane, JP Virginia, Tazewell County to Wit: We, R. C. Graham and Wm. R. Bane, Justices of the Peace for the County of Tazewell and State of Virginia do certify Rhoda Perdue wife of David K. Perdue whose names are signed to the writing hereunto annexed bearing date on 31st day of July 1858 personally appeared before us in the county aforesaid and being examined by us privately and apart from her husband and having the writing aforesaid fully explained to her, she the said Rhoda Perdue acknowledged the said writing to be her act and declared that she had willingly executed the same and does not wish to retract it. A deed of Bargain and Sale from David K. Perdue & wife to Zachariah Perdue conveying land with a certificate of acknowledgement & Privy examination before two Justices of Tazewell County annexed was this day presented in said office & admitted to record.
