Mercer Co WV Archives - Obituary --- Mrs. Edna Laura Austin, 1953 Contributed July 17, 2008 for use in USGenWeb Archives By: Fred Spradlin, fspradlin@earthlink.net Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Mon., Jun 22, 1953 Mrs. Edna Laura Austin, 74, pioneer resident of Mercer County, died at Bluefield Sanitarium yesterday evening. She had been in ill health for two months. Mrs. Austin lived at 201 South Walker St., Princeton. Mrs. Austin was the daughter of Daniel and Amanda Ross Burgess, born in Mercer County May 29, 1879. She was married to Chester F. Austin in 1902. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago. Survivors are two sons, Dumont Austin of Princeton and Chester F. Austin of Fort Worth, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Estell Shultz, of Atkins, Va., Mrs. Sam Pennington of Princeton and Mrds. Emma Johnston of Jopa, Md.
