Alex Bailey died yesterday afternoon about 2:30 o'clock at the home of Thomas Calfee, where he was taken last Monday following a fall from a scalfold which callapsed while Mr. Bailey, G.W. Williams and Sam Lambert were at work. Death was caused by pheumonia which set in following his accident in which Mr. Bailey had several ribs broken in addition to suffering oth er internal injuries. His plight was so serious that he could not be taken to his home and it was not until after death came to him that his body was silently taken to his own home, from which the funeral will be held. At the time the scaffold fel with the three men, it was not thought their injuries were serious, although it was soon afterwards recognized that Mr. Bailey, who had fallen quite a distance, had been badly hurt. His injuries were not necessarily serious until pneumonia developed. Alex Bailey has for years been a well-known resident of this Co., and was the owner of a handsome farm which he recently disposed of for a sum in excess of $12,000 to E. H. Easley, W.E. Ross and others. The Bailey family, with which he is connected, is one of the oldest families in Beaver Pond district, and for that matter, in the Co., they having be en real pioneers, even taking part in the Indian fights of over a hundred years ago. The deceased is survived by his mother and several brothers and sisters, besides his widow and five children, who are Gladys, Hazel, Gilbert, Douthat and Raleigh Bailey.The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. W. S. Bullard, of the Christian Church."
