McKinney, 1944 Contributed July 17, 2008 for use in USGenWeb Archives By: Fred Spradlin, fspradlin@earthlink.net Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Tues., Aug. 8, 1944 Funeral services will be held today for Aulbert H. (Max) McKinney, who died at 1 o'clock Sunday morning at Bluefield sanitarium, following an illness of 15 months. The services will be held at 3 o'clock at the home, 1225 Woodland avenue. The Rev. Charles Bowles, pastor of the College Avenue Baptist church, will be in charge of the service. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Mr. McKinney was in the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Portis, Toledo street, this city, and is suvived by his wife, the former Miss Ruth Portis, and his mother, Mrs. Nannie McKinney of Williamson. He was preceded in death by his father, E. H. McKinney, Aug. 29, 1943. He was born in Richlands, Va., Jan. 26, 1915. Mr. McKinney moved back to Bluefield about three months ago from Beckley, where he lived for six years. He was employed there by the Koppers stores.
