Mercer Co, WV Archives, Obituaries -- Mrs. Nannie McKinney, 1944 Contributed July 19, 2008 for use in USGenWeb Archives By: Fred Spradlin, fspradlin@earthlink.net *********************************************************************** Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Sun., Apr 2, 1944 Mrs. Nannie McKinney, 68, wife of Samuel McKinney, of Lashmeet, died yesterday morning at 12:30 at her home after an illness of a year. Mrs. McKinney was born October 29, 1876, a daughter fo Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Thorn. She was a native of Mercer county and had been a life-long resident of this secion. She was a member of a pioneer family of the county. She is survived, in addition to her husband, by the following children: Mrs. Sallie Delph, Carbondale, Mres. Maude Hurst, Mrs. Beulah Basham, Mrs. Kathleen Delp, and Lawrence McKinney, all of Lashmeet, and one brother, Ballard Thorne, of Springton. Funeral services will be conducted this morning at 11 o'clock at the Mt. Olivet Methodist church at Lashmeet, of which she was a member. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Fred Robertson and the Rev. Z. F. Maybeury, both of Matoaka. Burial will follow in the Mt.
