   Mrs. Bertie Elizabeth McLain, 75, Caperton Avenue, Princeton, died suddenly
at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Bailey, yesterday at 3. p.m.
   The daughter of the late S. G. and Eliza Overstreet McLain, she was born
Nov. 29, 1879, in Bedford County, Va.  Her husband, Samuel G. McLain, preceded
her in death.  She was a member of the Brethern Church, Smith's Chapel.
   Survivors are three daughters: Mrs. Minnie Cole, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. J. W.
Dunn, Princeton, and Mrs. Robert Bailey, Princeton; two sons, Harry McLain,
Mt. Hope, and Drewery McLain, Loiuisville, Ky.; two brothers, Frank Jones,
Blue Ridge, Va., and Ronnie Jones, Roanoke, Va.; three sisters: Mrs. Bessie
Thomas, Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Anne St. Clair and Mrs. Fannie Gray, both of Blue
Ridge, Va.
   The body will remain at the Memorial Funeral Directory, where funeral
arrangements are pending.
