Mathew Meador Obit as written April 11, 1929, (My Great Grandfather) submitted by THOMAS CRICKENBERGER" ANOTHER OLD CONFEDERATE PASSES AWAY Mathew Meador died Thursday, at the home of his son, A. P. Meador, who resides on the Bluesotne River, between Lilly and True, this county. His death was rather sudden, tho' he had been in a feeble state of health for some time. Mr Meador, who had reached the great age of 87 years, was a veteran of the Civil War, being allied with the Confederate army much of the time, of the great struggle between the states. He was in the battle of the Seven Pines and was later captured at Richmond, Va., by the Union forces. He is survived by two sons, J. T., of Crumps Bottom, and A. P. Meador,of near True. Funeral services were held Friday and burial followed in the afternoon in the cemetery at True. Rev. Lilly, of Jumping Branch, had charge of the servies.
