Obituary for Noah Edward Meadows, 1939 - Mercer Co. WV (Submitter note: Please note that the obituary was taken from the Bluefield Daily Telegraph. Also note that the newspaper mixed up his first and middle name when writing it. Noah went by his middle name Edward.) EDWARD MEADOWS Edward Noah Meadows, 25, 300 Madison Street, passed away at St. Luke's hospital, a victim of pneumonia. Mr. Meadows had been ill for the past twelve days, but grew serious only a few days before death, He had been in failing health since last spring, suffering from a first case of pneumonia. He was a popular young man and had a host of friends. Mr. Meadows came to Bluefield as a small lad. He was born October 14, 1913, at Horsepen Cove,Va., Tazwell Co., a son of the late Rev. and Mrs. J.S. Meadows. He attended Bluefield schools and was an employee of the National Electric Coil company, for the past 6 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss. Mildred Hager, of Bluefield, and one daughter, Peggy Ann, age 5;and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. S.A. Nunnaly, Leckie, Wv, Mrs. G.W. Carrol, Mrs. G.J. Patton, Mrs. A. Vengen; Alton, Clyde, Glenn and James Meadows, all of Bluefield. Funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church, Tuesday at 2:30, conducted by the Rev. Frank L. Stuck, pastor of First Christian Church, Princeton; assisted by the Rev. T.E. Peters. Burial will be in Monte Vista Park. Flower bearers will be the girls of the National Electric Coil company. Active pallbearers are: Garrett W. Yost, Jimmy Mefford, Ed Dillow, J. Stephens, Trent Kemp, Paul Cundiff, John Morfan and Guy Cundiff. Honorary pallbearers: C.L. Cruise, George Cruise, Arthur (Al) Heller, Lacy Bourne, V.G. Morton, W.C. Neel, E.E. Thompson, W.P. Huffman and J.W. Overstreet. Friends furnishing cars are asked to be at the home at 1 o'clock.
