Mercer Co WV Archives, Obituaries -------- TEAGUE, Charles -- 1937 Contributed <15 Jul 2008> for use in USGenWeb Archives By: Fred Spradlin, fspradlin@earthlink.net ************************************************************************ Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Tues., Mar 19, 1937 RITES HELD FOR CHARLES TEAGUE -------- Death of Man Who had Resided Here For Ten Years Attributed to Silicosis: Funeral Services Were Monday -------- Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon for Charles Teague, 55, whose death occurred at his home on Fairview street early Sunday morning. Mr. Teague had been ill for two years of what was described as silicosis. For a number of years Mr. Teague was employed as a coal miner in Elkhorn. The funeral was held in the Memorial Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. Rufus Newton of Richlands. Interment was made in Maple Hill. Mr. Teague was a native of Roan Mountain, Tenn. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are his widow, formerly Miss Nell Viall, one son, Frank Teague, and two daughters, Misses Helen and Louise Teague. Miss Helen is a graduate of Graham high school and a student at Bluefield college. Frank Teague is a son by a former marriage. Mr. Teague is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, William T. Teague, of Buladean, N. C.; Sam Teague of Switchback, W. Va.; Mrs. E. W. Forbes, of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; and Mrs. F. D. Birchfield, of Buladean, N. C.
