Andrew Jackson Meade, 56, of Belo died at 9am yesterday in a local hospital.  
A farmer, Mr. Meade was born June 6, 1899, in Mingo County, the son of Henry 
and Priscilla Sturgill Meade.
    He was married to the former Minnie Dempsey, who died two months ago.
    Survivors include eight children: Mrs Emma Vance, Mrs Della Sheppard, Mrs 
Ada Dillon, Mrs Georgine Hannah, Mrs Gertrude Vance, Euell Meade, all of Route 
1, Kermit, Mrs Marie Smith, of Wadsworth, O., and William H. Meade of Sarah 
Ann, WV, and 31 grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be held at 2pm tomorrow at the residence in Belo 
with the Rev Rhodes Southers officiating.  Burial, under the direction of the 
Ball Funeral Home, will be in the White Cemetery at Belo.

“Mrs Lucindy Shepard, 71 years old, wife of Finley Sheppard, died today at her 
home at Belo of a heart attack.  
   Surviving are her husband and the following children: Steve, Pat, William, 
Jake, Tom and Sidney Sheppard, Mrs. Florence Mounts, Mrs. Molly Estepp and 
Julia Sheppard.
    Funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock 
with the Rev. W. B Estepp in charge.  Burial will be at Belo.”
