Crichfield Cemetery, Monongalia County, Maidsville, West Virginia

Crichfield Cemetery is located approximately 8 miles north of

Morgantown, West Virginia.  It is the family burial plots for William

Crichfield and Dorcas (Doris) Whitlash and their son Barnet.  The

cemetery sits within a grove of trees, within an old strip mine.  The

nearest town is Maidsville, approximately 1 mile to the north along

state route 100.

The cemetery has no known sexton as caretaker.

Directions:

Take state route 100 north from Granville to railroad overpass.

Continuing north on state route 100, cross 3 low water road bridges.

Immediately after 3rd low water bridge turn into parking area for a

dirt road, which is blocked by locked gate.  As of June 30, 2000, the

land is owned by the Patriot Mining Company.
