Denny Tennant Cemetery
Monongalia Co., WV


Directions: This cemetery is in Battelle District, but I have decided to include it,
as I have found no other record of it, and it is not far from the Clay District line.
From Rt. 7W, turn left onto Miracle Run Road.  Go 4.6 mile to a gate on the right. 
The cemetery is about .5 mile from the gate, in the woods, on the side of the hill 
to the right of the gate.  Not cared for, no pines.

			     "She was a kind and affectionate wife, A fond mother, friend to all,
			      Alas she left us, her spirit has fled, Her body now slumbers along with the dead"

Tennant, Infant -  s/o Denny and Elizabeth
		   "Dear lovely babe, to part with you, Hath racked our hearts with pain,
                             But though our loss is great, we trust, Tis your eternal gain"

Tennant, Oliver* -  August 22, 1860 ~ June 21, 1886
		    "Death has been here and borne away, A brother from our side,
                             Just in the morning of his day, In youth and love he died."

Tennant, Prudence E.* -  w/o Enos,  February 23, 1882 ~ October 10, 1909

NOTE:	I was told that Curtis Mathews hung himself.  His wife was Luella, daughter of Denny and 
	Elizabeth Anne Brewer Tennant.
	Denny Tennant was the son of Joseph and Catharine Haught Tennant.  His wife, Elizabeth Anne,
	was the daughter of William and Leatha Anne McCoy Brewer.
	Oliver Tennant was the son of Denny and Elizabeth Anne Brewer Tennant.
	Rebecca Tennant was the daughter of Denny and Elizabeth Anne Brewer Tennant.
	Mabel Ann and Mary Dell were the grandchildren of Denny and Elizabeth A. Brewer Tennant.
	Prudence Tennant was a Devine, and the wife of Enos Tennant, who was the son of Denny
	and Elizabeth A. Brewer Tennant.
