Marshall Cemetery
Monongalia Co., WV


Directions:  Located near Pentress, just off Rt. 7. From the intersection of Rt. 7 and 
Rt. 218S at Blacksville, go east on Rt. 7 for 1.6 mile.  he cemetery is in the field to 
the left, with nothing to mark it. Any stones thatwere there at one time are gone.

My uncle, Arlie Wright, told me once about a Marshall man that was taking a monument to the Marshall
Cemetery to set for his mother.  The wagon wheel broke, and he left it where it broke down - wagon
and stone.  It sit there for years.  A few years ago, Carlo McCoy bought a monument at a sale.  The 
seller had said that it was in an old broken down wagon.  This is the same stone my uncle had told me
about. 

It read:
Marshall, Ellen -  w/o Joseph*,  died March 8, 1904,  aged 66 years

Marshall, Eli* -  1811 ~ January 12, 1827
Marshall, Infant -   s/o J.S. and S.J.,   April 16, 1896 ~ April 17, 1896

NOTE:	Joseph Marshall was the son of Hezekiah and Atha Neal Marshall.
	Eli Marshall was the son of James and Mary Marshall.
