To All to Whom these Presents shall Come, Greeting: Know Ye, That in conformity with a survey made on the 16th day of August, one thousand eight hundred and Twenty two by virtue of land Office Exchange Treasury Warrant No. 2296 issued January 30th 181(?) there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Gauen Eddy a certain Tract or Parcel of land, containing forty eight acres situate in the County of Monongalia adjoining and between lands claimed by the heirs of Snider and the heirs of Lynch on waters of Indian Creek and bounded as followeth to wit: beginning at two white oaks corner to Sniders survey, thence with a line thereof N21 W177 poles to (pointers?) in said lines and corner to a survey made for James Robison, thence with a line thereof S 58 W39 poles to a black oak and line of Lynchh’s survey, thence with it S15 E 155 poles to a white oak and dogwood in said line corner to a survey made for James Barker, thence with his line 58 poles crossing a drain to a stake, thence N 48 W 6 4/10 poles to the beginning. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances to the said Gauen Eddy and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, The said James Pleasants, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the 25th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 25 and of the commonwealth the 49th James Pleasants.
