These electronic pages cannot be reproduced in any format for profit or other presentation. ============================================================ John Tyler, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To All to Whom these Presents shall Come, Greeting: Know Ye, That by virtue of a land office Treasury Warrant, to wit, 250 acres of number 11,955 issued the 9th day of May 1782 and 72 acres by exchange Warrant No. 1202 issued the 2nd day of January 1802 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Alexander Eddy a certain tract and parcel of land containing 322 acres by survey bearing date the 25th day of November 1807 lying and being in the county of Monongalia and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a branch in the creek Marcealis near corner to a survey made for James Mills thence with two lines thereof S 40 W 90 poles to Painters S 6 W 16 poles to pine in Thomas Laidley’s line N 45 E 216 poles along said line to two white oaks N 32 W 18 poles along Alexander’s line to three sugar trees and stump N 66 W 190 poles to a poplar W 7 E 220 poles cross Mirselis run to a white Nicholas [Shin’s ?] corner N 68 W 114 poles along his line to Painters Creek corner thence along three of his lines S 28 W 35 poles to 2 dogwoods S ! 69 W 6 poles to a maple S 46 poles to a white oak [?] 74 E 90 poles to a white oak S 35 E 10 poles to a white oak corner to James Mills lands and thence S 60 E 128 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances to the said Alexander Eddy and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, The said John Tyler Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser Seal of the Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the 1st day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 9 and of the Commonwealth the 34th John Tyler
