This obit was found in with old family photos in the possession of her daughter Lula Males Walker and given Peggy Males Miller, granddaughter of Margaret Gertrude Males. The obit was probably in the Morgantown, West Va. Paper. She was buried in Mt. Union Cemetery, Morgantown, West Virginia. Mrs. Gertrude Males, 79 of Rt. 4, died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Walker. She had been ill for some time. Born November 12, 1878, in Union District, she was a daughter of William and Mahalia Echart Cartwright. Her husband Harry Curtis Males, preceded her in death seven years ago. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lula Belle Walker, at whose home she died, Mrs. Genevieve Perkins and Mrs. Margaret Wall, both of Washington, D. C.; three sons, William S. of Chester, Edwin D. of East Liverpool, Ohio and Everett D. of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Mrs. Ida Poundstone of Old Fort, N. C.; 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
