Miss VanGilder was taken to the hospital on Saturday from her home on the Stewartstown road, but her condition failed to improve. She was 70 years old. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John O. VanGilder, pioneer residents of this vicinity, Miss VanGilder spent her entire life in Morgantown. She has been active in the affairs of the Highland Park M.E. Church and was also a valuable member of Harmony Lodge No. 51 Daughters of Rebekah, having been treasurer for the fraternal organization for nearly 30 years. Surviving Miss VanGilder are the following sisters: Mrs. Betty Pell, with whom she has been making her home; Mrs. Harvey S. Williams, and Mrs. Charles W. Farrar, all of Morgantown and Mrs. Lida Farrar of Athens. O. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed, but the services will probably be conducted on Tuesday.
