Bill of Sale - Slaves to B.A.S. Walker from Thomas Walker 7th September 1850 Monroe County Virginia (Now West Virginia) Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Walker of the County of Monroe and state of Virginia for and in consideration of the natural love and affection I have for my Grandson Benjamin A.S. Walker & for the further consideration of one dollar to me in hand, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, Have bargained, sold, granted and confirmed and by these presents do bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Benjamin A.S. Walker a certain female slave named Adaline together with her three children viz. Mariah and Ephraim and Jeremiah. To have and to hold the said Slaves with the future increase thereof unto the said Benjamin A.S. Walker his Executors administrators or assigns forever. And I the said Thomas Walker for myself, my Executors and administrators the said slaves, with the future increase thereof to the said Benjamin A.S. Walker his Executors, Administrators and assigns and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever. Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and affixed my seal this 7th day of September 1850 Sealed & delivered and possession Delivered in presence of J.M. Monroe County Court Clerks Office 16th September 1850 This Bill of Sale from Thomas Walker to Benjamin A.S. Walker was presented in this Office, proved by J. M.
