Eggleston To: Joseph Eggleston This Deed made this 4th day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand Nine Hundred and ten, 1910, between Mrs. Margaret Virginia Eggleston of the County of Monroe and State of West Virginia of the first part and Joseph Eggleston of the County of Monroe State of West Virginia of the second part. Witnesseth that for [and] in consideration of the sum of Eight Hundred and Eighty-five dollars, [$885.00] cash in hand paid by the party of the second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged by the party of the first part have bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the party of the second part his heirs and assigns all that piece or parcel of land situated in the County of Monroe and State of West Virginia and lying on the North side of Peters Mountain on the head waters of Dunlap's Creek; which is in two tracts. Tract No. 1 adjoins the lands known as the Carrington lands and further known as the Clemens parcel and at present the Joseph Eggleston [illegible] and containing forty-seven and one-half acres, be the same more or less and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at (2) chestnut oaks on a ridge of the moutain on line of the Carrington survey leaving same S60 E26 poles to three chestnut oaks N93 E85 poles to a bunch of Lynns in a hollow N40 E120 poles to (2) chestnut oaks by a large rock N30 West 15 poles to two Spanish oaks on Carrington line and with same S59 W215 poles to the beginning. Tract No. 2 situated in the County of Monroe West Virginia about five miles southwest of Sweet Springs situated on the North side of Peters Mountain adjoining the lands of A.L. Wickline, John E. Wickline and others and is bounded as follows, beginning at a chestnut oak S61 W65 poles thence S17 E108 poles to outside line with same N61 E30 poles to (2) ash corners thence N2 W121 poles to the beginning. Supposed to contain thirty-two acres and 114 poles; also about (8) acres lying above the 32 acres and also the Clemens tract on the County land beginning at (3) chestnut oaks on side of the moutain N72 E58 poles to a bunch of lynns in a Hollow corner to same and leaving S12 W16 poles to a bunch of lynns in a hollow thence S73 W opposite the County line 16 poles to the (3) chestnut oaks corner to the County land: making in all about or near (41) acres be the same more or less. Together with the appurtenances thereto belonging with general warranty to have and to hold forever the premises above bargained and described and hereby conveyed to the party of the second part, in witness whereof the party of the first part hereunto set [there] hand and seal, this the 4th day of May 1910.
