Neal/Arnot Deed, 1799 - Monroe Co. WV Land Conveyance Walter Neal and Winnie, his wife to Henry Arnot Monroe County WV Deed Book A page 29 This indenture made this fifteenth day of October one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between Walter Neal and Winnie his wife, of one part and Henry Arnot of the other. Each of the County of Greenbrier and State of Virginia. Witnesseth: That the said Walter Neal and Winnie his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar, current money of said State to them in hand paid, on or before the sealing and delivering of these present the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge, have bargained and sold, and by these presents, do bargain and sell unto the said Henry Arnot, a certain tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres, lying and being in the County of Greenbrier, in the valley between the Little and Peters Mountains. It being the part that said Arnot now lives on of two surveys that is Neals part of the furnace tract, made over to him by deed of conveyance from William Shannon and Wife. And the other survey made over to him, by deed of conveyance from Joseph Feagans and wife, and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a large black oak and hickory sapling, below said Arnots house, corner to old survey, and the dividing line, between Neals and the furnace part and with said line, north seventy six degrees, west ninety two poles to two chestnut and locust saplings. Corner to same and the old survey, south ninety one degrees. West sixty four poles to a large white oak, at the Great Road. South ten degrees, east fifty four poles to a poplar opposite William Neals cabin. North eight degrees, east seventy four poles to a maple in a small hollow, and north sixteen degrees, west twenty four poles to a chestnut oak, north six degrees, east forty four poles crossing a branch to a maple opposite said Arnots house. North thirty eight degrees, east thirty five poles to the beginning. With all the ways, water, water courses, barn, buildings, fields, fences, and all the appurtainances there unto belonging to the said Henry Arnot and his heirs and assigns to the sole use and behalf of the said Henry Arnot, and his heirs, and assigns forever, and the said Walter Neal and Winnie his wife, for themselves, and their heirs doth covenant with the said Henry Arnot and his heirs, the said tract or parcel of land from themselves and their heirs to the said Henry Arnot, and his heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons whatsoever will warrent and will forever defend, whereof they have hereunto se their hands and seals, the day and year above written. Of Tuesday the 15th day of October 1799 this deed of bargain and sale from Walter Neal and Winnie his wife, to Henry Arnot was acknowledged.
