Witnesseth that the said Samuel Pack and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said William Pack on or before the sealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged both bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto said William Pack and his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Monroe on New River and being part of a tract of land granted to James Ellison by patent and bounded and as follows. Commencing at the mouth of a branch above Bartlett Packs site house and running up said branch to the back line thence with said line to the upper corner with bank of the river thence down the river with the meanders of the same to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land herein mentioned with all and every of the appurtenances to the only and proper use and behoof of the said William Pack and his heirs and assigns forever and the said Samuel Pack and Mary his wife for themselves and their hers doth convey and agree with the said William Pack and his heirs the aforesaid tract or parcel of land from themselves and their heirs and from the heirs claim or claims or any other person or persons whatsoever to the said William Pack and his heirs and assigns, will, warrant and forever defend by these presents--In witness whereof the said Samuel Pack and Mary his wife hath hereunto set their hands and seals the date first above written. his Samuel (X) Pack {SEAL} mark Signed, sealed and } delivered in the presents of } Monroe County to wit William McDaniel and John Pack, Justices of the Peace in said County and State of Virginia, do hereby certify Samuel Pack Senr a party to a certain deed baring date of 17th of April 1823 and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County in order that the same may be recorded.
