The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net ************************************************************************ Marriages 1821-1825, File 3, Jacket 2212 {BOND} Know all men by these presents, that we, Joseph P Rolyson and John Rolyson, are held and firmly bound unto His Excellency, Thomas Randolph Esquire, Governor of Virginia, and his successors, for the use of the Commonwealth, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these present. Sealed and dated this 6th day of September, 1822 in the 47th year of the Commonwealth. The Condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Joseph P Rolyson and Elizabeth Davis of Monroe County if therefore, there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
