{BOND}
Know all men by these presents, that we, John Harwood Roleyson and 
James Massey, are held and firmly bound unto James Monroe Esq. 
Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, or his successors, in 
the sum of one hundred and fifty dolars; with condition that 
there is no lawful cause to obstruct a mariage intended to be 
solemnized between John Harwood Roleyson and Abigail Philips, 
both of this County of Monroe and State afforesaid, then this 
obligation to be void, or else to be and remain in full force 
and virtue, sealed with our seals and dated this seventh day of 
April one thousand eight hundred.

I hereby certifie that I am well agreed to a mariage intended to
