Transcription of Scanned Bond, Shaver/Millen, 1799 - Monroe Co. WV

KNOW all men by these presents, that we Charles SHAVER and David MILLEN
are held and firmly bound unto James Monroe, Esq., governor, or Chief
Magistrate, of the Commonwealth of Virginia, his sucessors, for
use of the commonwealth, the Sum of one hundred & fifty Dolars, with condition,
that there is no Lawful Cause to obstruct a Mariage intend to be Solemnized,
between the above named Charles SHAVER ~ and Amy LEGG ~~ Both of this County
of Monroe, and State aforesaid, then this obligation to be void, otherwise
to be, and Remain in full force and Virtue.
Sealed with our Seals, and Dated this Seventeenth Day of December 1799.
