Smith/Ballard Marriage Bond, 1804 - Monroe Co. WV

Know all men by these Presents, that we Jacob Smith and John 
Ballard are held and firmly bound unto John Page, ESQ Governor 
of the Common Wealth of Virginia and his successors in the Sum of
one hundred & fifty dollars with condition that there is no lawful 
cause to abstract a marriage Intended to be solemnized between the
said  Jacob Smith and Elizabeth Ballard of this County then the 
above obligation to be void or else to remain in Full Force Virtue.   
signed by our hands & seals this 5th day of December 1804.
