I. I order and direct that all of my just debts shall be paid with convenient speed. II. I give and bequeath and devise my estate and property as follows: that is to say that I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Joseph Alexander Eggleston a certain promissory note to the value of one hundred dollars ($100) together with whatsoever interest may be on said note at the time of my decease, together with one hundred dollars in money making a total of two hundred dollars ($200) exclusive of interest. III. I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Ella Hepler one dollar ($1.00) my reason for so doing is that I think and believe that I have remembered her, sufficiently as to my property in the past. IV. I give and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Delila Catherine Jones, the twelve and more or less acre tract of land known as the Armentrout land together with the appurtenances thereto belong. V. I give and bequeath unto my four beloved grandchildren the heirs of Lewis A. Jones and his wife Delila Catherine Jones, two hundred dollars that is to say Carrie O. Jones, fifty dollars ($50), Ava C. Jones, fifty dollars ($50), James Clark Jones, fifty dollars ($50) and Lake Jones fifty dollars ($50) and these several amounts I devised placed and secured that they will bear the legal interest from my decease; and as each child may have arrived at the age of twenty-one years old except in the case of Ava should she marry before she is twenty-one years old she shall be entitled to her part within twelve months after marriage, should there not be a sufficiency to pay each child the fifty dollars as above mentioned their whatsoever amount there shall be equally divided among the four children above named and should there be more than the two hundred dollars as above mentioned then it shall go to my daughter Delila C. Jones. VI. I appoint Walter Cook as my executor of this my will. In witness whereof I have signed sealed and published and declared this instrument as my will, done at Centennial, Monroe County and State of West Virginia this 8th day of November nineteen hundred and sixteen (1916). Eggleston at Centennial on the 8th day November nineteen hundred and sixteen (1916) signed and sealed this instrument for her last will and we at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have herewith written our names as subscribing witnesses. Cook [seal] CODICIL TO LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF MARGARET VIRGINIA WICKLINE EGGLESTON I Margaret Virginia Eggleston of Centennial of Monroe County and State of West Virginia hereby make this Codicil to my last Will and Testament dated the eighth (8th) day of November nineteen hundred and sixteen (1916) which is to be taken as part thereof. I revoke the first part of paragraph II. where I give and bequeath to my son Joseph A. Eggleston a certain promissory note to the value of $100 with interest on said note I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved daughter Delila C. Jones this certain promissory note in lieu or place of my son Joseph A. Eggleston. Witness my signature this the 2nd day of November 1917. M. V. Eggleston, deceased, was presented in my office for probate, and together with W.A. Young and J.H. Cook, subscribing witnesses thereto who made oath and declared that M.V. Eggleston, signed this writing and declared the same was her true last Will and Testament, ordered this Will be recorded as such E.A.
