Hobday, Jr. a certain Tract or parcel of Land, containing two hundred and eight acres lying in Morgan County on the E. side of Cacapon Mountain Hundred as follows, viz. Beginning at three pines and a chestnut oak on the South side of the mountain path, Thence S8*W254 poles with Henry Dawson's line, to a crooked chestnut oak, his corner. Thence with another of his lines S15 W60 poles to two birch trees, his corner. Thence the same course 83 poles farther to a hickory and two chestnut oaks on the east side of Indian run. Thence N75 W112 poles to a gum and two chestnut oaks on the side of the mountain. Thence N15 E203 poles to a large black oak & small hickory. Thence N43 E100 poles to a large rock and stones pile on it. Thence N21 E111 poles to a double and single chestnut oak. Thence S 77 E 20 poles to the beginning with its appertenances. To Have and To Hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appertenances, to the said Wm. Hobday, Jun. and his heirs forever. In witness whereof, the said Joseph Johnson, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and cause the Lower Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond on the first day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two and of the Commonwealth the seventy seventh. ******************************************************************************* Joseph Johnson, Esquire, governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these Presents shall come - Greeting: Know Ye that in confomrity with a survey made on the eighth day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty three by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant Nos 14,282 & 13,095 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto William Hobday a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing seventy four acres and three quarters lying in Morgan County, on the east side of Cacapon Mountain along Indian run, and bounded as follows, Viz: Beginning at a large hickory and 2 chestnut oaks on the east side of said run corner to his late survey of 208 acres, Thence with a line of the ______ N75 W111 ps. to a gum & 2 chestnut oaks, his corner, the same course confirmed 130 poles in all to a stone pile on the side of said mountain near a black oak & pine saplings. Thence S12 W32 poles ____ & chestnut saplings, thence S55 E 65 poles to a large chestnut oak on the west side of Indian Run, thence down said run N58 E 170 ps to the beginning, with its appurtenanses. To Have and To Hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said William Hobday and his heirs forever.
