Comment: Taken from a compilation by Lola Mae Inscoe (3/1988)This letter
was written by Sarah Ellen Bohrer Miller to her brother Charles Early 
Bohrer.Apparently, this was before Charles was married and I am not 
sure where he was living at this time. Sarah Ellen was married in 1888,
so she had been married nine years by now. The baby- Ethel Odessa-
that she is talking about in the letter, was her sixth child. She was 
born March 18,1896. 
Some words were not readable, they are followed by question marks.

Dear Brother Charley  I will try to write to use all   have bad Cold and I have 
been sufering several day with (?????) my stomacke  I think I will get better in
a few days   it is my old complaint(?) Thom has got well but he has no strength
   he cant stand nothing  well Charly my Baby will be 10 months Olda Tusday
She hant any larger (?????) Charley (???) old and she can Cral and poosh 
a charl and walke after it  ever one that see hur and seen you when you was hear
ses she is the pictur of you  the Children calls hur Charley nearly all the time
  I think I will Call hur to of them names you sed call hur that is Ethel Odessa
  Well Charly what I was goying to tell you was Laura Unger told one of hur Lady 
friend that she was not goying to write to you eny more  She sed it was not worth 
while  that Mother sed you wrote to them that you was goying to Marrie a girl out
ther  You did not write that to them did you  Mother told lots when dhe was hear
that you wrote to them  Luther Bohrer has come back from Tasses (?)  Laura has no
beau now  I believe our good neighbors John Widmyres moved a way last week  tha
moved 2 miles west of Berkeley Springs  Ida hasent got a beau yet  Well Charly we
had a glouriss meetting at Oakland and quite a number gave their heart to god
Emma Siler and Lafe Miller and Martha Miller profest religion and many more to
numessm(?) to ment(?)   I hear ther is a good meeting a X roads now and ther is
mieny that has profest  Bob Michel and Champ Iden hast to stay close home  tha
expect an increas in the family  Well Charly I hope you all enjoy the Ooledays
they were very dear to us
Charly I got evas letter last Eavning  she sed we Could Come out and stay with
you and Thom work for Henry  the docter ses Thom will be able to do very little
next sumer and our docter bill  is a hundred and 50 dollers yet and Thom sesas he
hant able to do much that he mites well stay hear next sumer. if we has the
money cash we could buy this place and groul(?) plashl(?) 1 hund (?) red and 58
acers of land for 300=50 dollers  wouldent that be chaeep  She has 2 thousnd dollers of
cash money to (???) till the 1 of July  that is the reason she offerd it so cheep
  Well Charly I got that money you sent and was auful proud of it and thanke you
a thousand times and will pay you backe as soon as I can get it  Charly I will neavr
forget you and Henry for your kindness to me  You Showed a brothers kindness  Well
I will haft to Close for this  the Children all send you a kiss and ther love
