From Carrol scrapbook 1902 Married Hobday-Henry- In Cumberland one day last week, Mr. Joseph J. Hobday and Miss Mamie Agnes Henry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Henry, both of this county. From Swaim Scrapbook 1922 The marriage of Miss Lola May Hobday, daughter of Deputy Sherriff N.H. Hobday and Mrs. Hobday of Berkely Springs, W.Va., and Mr. Emmitt Miller also of Berkeley Springs, was solemized by ( ) J.H. Brunk, pastor of the United Brethren church here Monday evening at heir future home here. From newspaper clipping Dec. 1, 1910 Hobday- We regret to ...the death on Sunday night, Nov. 27th, of Mrs. Joseph Hobday at her home in St.Johns Valley, death being due to pneumonia from which she was ill but one week.The deceased was 56 years ,... months and 18 days old and the remains were buried at Oakland after services by Rev. E.E. Neff, assited by Rev. S.D. Skelton, in the church at that place. She is survived by her husband, three sons and three daughters - Mrs. T.E. Dawson,Mrs. Joe W. Barker, Mrs. W.F. Everett of Cokeburg, PA, Mr. N.H. Hobday, Mr. Martin Hobday, Mr. J.J. Hobday of that place, all of whom have our sympathy. From Eichelberger scrapbook DIED Hobday- In Rock Gap district on January 20th, 1889, very suddenly of heart disease, Mr. Wm. Hobday, aged about 57 years. His remains were interred in the graveyard at Oakland on Tuesday. Mr. Hobday was in town on last Saturday as well and hearty as ever. From the Messenger newspaper - 11/12/1925 Birthday Party On Thursday of last week Miss Pauline Hobday, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.H. Hobday, celebrated her 13th birthday by having a few of her young friends at her home. Games were enjoyed and refreshments consisting of candy, cake, and lemonade were served. Those present were, Marie Unger, Louise Hovermale, Reva Miller, Virginia Stotler, Amy Yost, Catherine Board, Maxine Ridgeway, and Mrs. Ed Stotler. Mrs Hobday was a great home ... and stated that while she was not afraid to die yet she would like tio live to rear her children, there being seven of them as follows: Ward, Thurman, Jesse Hobday, Mrs. Emmitt Miller and Grace, Edith and Pauline Hobday, the latter three at home. Those here to attend the funeral were Mrs. Rebecca Catlett(?), a sister in Morgan town, Mrs. Texas Thorne, a ... of Elk..., Mrs. Ann Barney ..se husband and wife of Pittsburgh.
