Cogar 40 Nicholas [----] Deliv'd to H M Dickinson Feby 20 1837 [...]dating[?] pursuant to the [this?] govon[?] Wyndham Robertson esq Lieut Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: TO ALL TO WHOM these Presents shall come, GREETING: KNOW YE, That in comformity with a Survey, made on the 31st day of August 1835 by virtue of Land Office treasury warrant No 90--[?] there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Tobias Cogar A certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing Forty acres situate in Nicholas County on the back fork of Holly river joining a survey made for Jacob Fisher & bounded as follows -- Beginning a two sugar trees on the bank of the back fork of Holly river & corner to a survey made for Jacob Fisher & with his line of the same N45 E --[?] poles up the creek & crossing to a white walnut & hickory N64 E218 poles crossing the creek twice to an ash & beech corner to the above mentioned survey & leaving said lines S85 W60 poles to - dogwood & sugar tree S59 W70 poles to a white oak N 58 W50 poles to a white oak & black oak on the side of the mountain S33 W156 poles crossing the creek to the beginning with its appurtenances TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Tobias Cogar and his heirs forever.
