Wood 80 Nicholas County delivered Mr.Hanson (?) 10th Dec. 1835 examined Littleton W. Tazewell, Esq., Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings: Know YE, That in conformity with a survey made on the 15th day of November, 1834 by Virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No.2620 there is granted by the Commonwealth, unto Zechariah Wood a certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing eighty acres, situate in Nicholas county, on Elk River and bounded as follows; Beginning at a poplar birch, corner to Wood S12 degrees W 60 poles to a black oak near this river N50 degrees W 50 poles down the river to a stake on a line of Isaac Gregory with the said, N33 degrees E 236 poles, crossing said river down to a mark given and leaving said Gregory's line on the bank of the river NNW 210 poles to a sycamore locust N60 degrees E 50 poles to a water birch N 71 degrees E 70 poles to a spruce pine on said river bank S34 degrees E 26 poles out from the river to a sugar tree by a rock S 55 degrees W 178 poles to a birch S 23 degrees W 150 poles to a birch poplar, corner to said Woods with his line S 7 1/2 degrees W 80 poles to the beginning, with its appurtenances. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Zechariah Wood and his heirs forever. In witness whereof the said, Littleton W. Tazewell, Esq., Governor ofthe Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the 25th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, and of the Commonwealth, the 60th.
