This Deed, made the twenty second day of December in the year One thousand eight hundred and eighty four between Mary E. Wiley, widow of Joshua C. Wiley deceased, Julia M. Wiley, Kate Wiley, Lou C. Wiley, Adda M. Wiley, Calvin A. Wiley, and Etta Wiley his wife Sarah J. Wheat the wife of John J. Wheat, with said John J. Wheat her husband and Ella Skinner, the wife of D.W. Skinner, and the said D.W. Skinner her husband (the said Julia M. Wiley, Kate Wiley, Lou C. Wiley, Adda M. Wiley, Calvin A. Wiley, Sarah J. Wheat and Ella Skinner, being all of the children and heirs of the late Joshua C. Wiley) parties of the first part, Catharine Prettyman, the wife of Solomon Prettyman, party of the second part; Witnesseth: that the said parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of two thousand and four hundred Dollars, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do grant unto the said party of the second part, with covenants of general warranty the following described real estate situate in the City of Wheeling, County of Ohio and State of West Virginia, that is to say: The East half of the West half of the lot numbered One hundred and seventy eight (178) on the plat of the Old Town and East Wheeling, as recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Court of Ohio County West Virginia in Deed Book No. 57 at page 370, and situate on the South side of sixteenth Street in the said City of Wheeling; Being the same property which was conveyed to Joshua C. Wiley, now deceased in his lifetime by Samuel G. Stevens and wife of deed dated March 2nd 1863, and of record in the office of the clerk of the County Court of Ohio County, West Virginia in Deed Book no. 46 page 228. This conveyance is made unto the said Catharine Prettyman the wife of the said Solomon Prettyman as and for her sole and separate estate free from the control of and not subject to the debts of him her said husband.
