Signed: John Gibson Col. 9th Virg. Regiment I do certify that the above named Peter Parchment had his arm broke and shattered by a wound which he received from the Indians on the river Muskingum in January 1779 while he was in actual service of the United States. Signed: Jn. Gibson, Col. 9th Virg. Regt. Benjamin Biggs, Capt. in Virginia Line, George McCollock-magistrate in Ohio County, and Lashariah Sprigg-Gov't official-certified that Parchment was unable to support himself and should be given a pension. I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that Peter Parchment, late a private in the 9th Virginia Regiment was disabled in the service of the United States by a wound in the arm is continued on the list of pensioners with an allowance of twelve pounds yearly to commence from the first day of January 1786.
