 Peter N. Daniel, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:
        To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting : Know Ye, 
That in conformity with a survey made on the sixteenth day of May, 1818, 
by Virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No.6050 issued the 26th day of 
October 1817,there is granted by the Commonwealth, unto Amos Tharp
a certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing forty acres, lying in the
County of Pendleton on the east side of the Cowpasture River between his own 
land and James Stewarts at the mouth of the Wolf Draft and bounded as 
followeth, to wit:
      Beginning at a white oak, his former corner on a bank and thence 
north thirty six degrees west forty poles crossing a draft to a pine on the 
south side of a ridge, north eighty degrees west thirty five poles to a 
chestnut oak in the head of a hollow, south seven degrees east eight poles to
a pitch pine on a ridge, south thirty  six degrees west fifty two poles to a 
pitch pine on a ridge, south eleven degrees west fifty eight poles to a 
white oak on the point of a ridge. South forty two degrees east thirty six
poles crossing the draft to a white pine on the point of a ridge, and thence
north thirty six degrees east one hundred and twenty seven poles to the 
beginning.
      To have to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances, 
to the said Amos Tharp and his heirs forever.
      In witness whereof; the saidPeter N. Daniel, Esquire, Governor of the 
Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Lesser 
Seal of the Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the first day of 
June in the year of Our Lord One Thousand EightHundred and nineteen
