Jones March 1835 (?) Littleton W. Tazewell, Esq., Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings: Know YE, That in conformity with a survey made on the nineteenth day of July, 1832 by Virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrants No.7351 and no. 10645 there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Amos Tharp a certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing sixteen acres, situate in Pendleton county, on the West side of the Cowpasture River adjoining and between lands of James Stewart Senior and George Erwin bounded as follows. Beginning at two pines on the side of a ridge S46E16 poles to a large white oak Erwins corner and with Erwins line to S18 1/2 E23 poles to a hickory and two chestnut oaks, Erwins corner, S65E57 poles to two white oaks. Erwins and Stewarts corner S20 W 57 poles to three white oaks on Stewarts line, N64W16 poles to two pines near some rocks.N30 E104 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Amos Tharp and his heirs forever. In witness whereof the said, Littleton W. Tazewell, Esq., Governor ofthe Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the twelth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four, and of the Commonwealth, the 59th.
