I Nancy Judy of the county of Pendleton and state of Virginia weak in body but of sound mind and memory. Calling to mind the mortality of all flesh do make and declare this my last will and testament. And first of all I will and recommend my soul to the house of the Lord and my body I recommend to the earth from whence it came to be buried in a Christian like manner. (this unreadable) Resurrection of the last day I shall recieve it again and (this unreadable) this worldly goods (this (unreadable) it hath pleased God.(unreadable) me in this life I will and bequeath the following – First I will and dictate that all my just debts and general expenses be paid out of my estate. – Secondly I will to all my sons and daughters one dollar namely St Clair Summers one dollar, James Summers one dollar, Elizabeth Hammock one dollar, Margaret Cooper one dollar, to the heirs of Jane Leach one dollar, Ursula Judy one dollar. Thirdly I will and bequeath I will and bequeath (it was written twice) unto Rosemary Judy daughter of Amos and Ursula Judy one bed and bedstead one bureau one blanket one big wheel one large pot one dining table one work table a set of Liverpool dishes one brass candlestick and snuffer. Fourth I will to Virginia Judy daughter of Amos and Ursula Judy one bed and bedstead a loom with its material a flock wheel a (unreadable) I desire my houses (the rest unreadable but to be rented and the proceeds to go to the daughters of Amos and Ursula Judy Nancy, Rosemary, Virginia and America) And after the exceptions of the afore named house I desire the fore named house (mostly unreadable to be rented for 3 years an after period that belong to St. Clair Judy son of Amos and Ursula Judy) And lastly I ordain and appoint my son-in-law Amos Judy guardian of the above Virginia, Rosemary, St. Clair & America to dispose of the property according to this my last will and testament. In witness (unreadable) I set my hand and seal this 3rd. day of May 1848. Day of March, 1849 This Last Will and Testament of Nancy Judy decs’d was presented to Court by the Executor therein named and proofed by the oaths of Jasper Waybright and John Hoclaw two of them sustaining witnesses hereunto and declared to be (unreadable). And on the motion of Amos Judy the Executor therein named who made an oath thereunto, and together with John Hoclaw and Jasper Waybright his (unreadable) entered unto and acknowledged thie bond is the penalty of $400.00 (unreadable) as the law directs. Additional Comments: Nancy Sinclair Robinson was first married to James Summers all her children were from this marriage. She married Henry Judy after the death of James. They were married December 24, 1830.
