Mrs. Ice previously worked at Montgomery Ward and with her husband had operated a hardware store in Marietta. She had been associated with the grandparent program at Colin Anderson. She was born in Marietta, a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Winifred Foster Eisenmann. She is the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Ice, in 1975; and one sister. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ruttencutter Funeral Home, St. Marys, with the Rev. Darrel L. Gooden officiating. Burial will be in Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island. Survivors include his mother, Louella Ruckman of St. Marys; his wife of four years, Pamela J. Illar; two sons, Alex Illar IV of St. Marys, and Justen Hunter Illar of Manassas Park ; two sisters, Linda Wilson of St. Marys and Susan Wilson of Albuquerque, N.M. He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Illar II. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lee Funeral Home, Manassas Park, Va. Visitation is from 7-9 today. (1918) He was 22 years old and the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Imlay. The funeral was held at the residence on Saturday afternoon conducted by the Rev. D.C. Marshall. Interment in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. (Source unknown) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ INGLE, ROBERT WILLIAMS (PETE), Bonifay, Fla., died May 29 (1989) at his residence. He was born June 13, 1921, in Burlington, N.C. At age 5 his family moved to Sebring, Fla. Ingle retired in 1985 after 45 years of service in the telephone industry. He started his telephone career in West Virginia with the United Telephone Co. This later became a part of the Independent Telephone Corp. During those years he served in many positions, including president of West Virginia Telephone Association. In 1962 ITC acquired Tri-County Telephone Co. and the Ingle Family moved to Bonifay. This company then became Florida State Telephone Co. Ingle served as president of this company and all its Florida holdings. Later ITC merged with Continental Telephone Corp. The Ingles were transferred twice - once to Atlanta to serve on the Gulf Division Staff. Each time they were transferred back home to Bonifay. Ingle served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific Theatre. He was an active member of the Bonifay Kiwanis Club always participating in rodeo and all singing activities. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and collector of antique telephones. Ingle was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bonifay. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Alberta Marsh Ingle, two daughters and sons -in-law, Margaret and Jerry Pelham, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Theresa and Bill Peacock, Dothan, Ala.; one grandson, Robert D. Bruner, Dothan, Ala.; one sister Mary Ellen Surrency, Avon Park, Fla.; and one brother, J. Ralph Ingle, Burlington, N.C. The funeral was May 31 in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Martin Ennis officiating. Burial was in Bonifay City Cemetery. Service will be held today at 3:30 p.m. for Mrs. Effie Gorrell Ingraham, 81, of St. Marys, who died at her home early yesterday. (1962 - exact date not given) The services will be conducted at the Ruttencutter Funeral Home by the Rev. A.T. Stewart and burial will be in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Mrs. Ingraham was born Aug. 12, 1879 in Pleasants County, the daughter of the late Wil**** Gorrell and Florence Deboh** Gorrell. She was a member of the St. Marys Methodist Church. Her husband, Charles F. Ingraham, died in 1955. Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Forrest Webb, St. Marys, and Mrs. Pearl Brewer, Weston, one nephew, Roy Williamson, Morgantown, and several other nieces and nephews. (Source unknown.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ INGRAHAM, GENEIVE Word has been received here by relatives of the recent death (Oct. 1971) of Miss Geneive Ingraham, daughter of the late Ed and Laura Peckens Ingraham, former residents of Pleasants County. Miss Ingraham had made her home in Elkhart, Ind., for a number of years. She is survived by two brothers, Roy of Elkhart and Jennings of Miles, Mich. (Oracle Nov. 11, 1971) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ INGRAHAM, HOWARD GRIMM, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Ingraham, was born March 21, 1897 in Pleasants County. Died October 24, 1918 at Fort Riley, Kansas, age 21 years, 6 months, and 23 days. Howard always stayed at home helping on the farm and working for the New York Petroleum company, until about two years ago, when he decided to go west to work in the oil fields, a work in which he was very efficient. He was well liked and spoken very highly of, by his employers and all who knew him. On his last trip to the west he was absent over a year. During that time he became twenty-one years of age, and registered there. After registering he came home for a short visit. On his return he was called to serve his country, August 28, and died in less than two months as a hero of a nation which he was serving. His remains were sent home in charge of Sergeant Bach of Fort Riley, who stayed until after the funeral service was conducted at his home, October 29, by Rev. S. Bennett in the presence of many friends and relatives. At home, left to mourn his loss are his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. .... (the obituary ends here.) Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Clarksburg. He was born in Newport, son of the late Richard Dexter and Carrie Kaye Ryan Ingraham. He was a Methodist by faith. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He had worked as a carpet layer for Dils Department Store and Wieser and Cawley, and retired from Amax Corp. in Parkersburg. He was a member of the American Legion, Russell Chadwick Post 389 in Beverly, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gladys Tanner Ingraham; two sons, Rodney Lynn Ingraham of Belpre and Larry Gale Ingraham of Grand Island, Fla.; one daughter, Arlena Pugliese of Parkersburg; six granddaughters; one brother, Arles Ingraham of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Margaret Robbins of Crofton, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with the Rev. William Pugliese, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Belpre. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ingrham, and an infant daughter. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Lucy Stewart, and several nieces and nephews of Eaat Liverpool, O. Interment followed in the Olive Cemetery, Elkhart, Ind. The deceased was born March 27, 1908 in Pleasants County. On June 4, 1930, he married Bernice Rinehart of St. Marys. Mr. Ingraham has been a partner of the Northern Indiana and Michigan Well Drilling Co., with the home offices located in Niles, Mich. He had lived at Osceola for the past 32 years. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ned Kinzie of Mishwaka, Ind., a son, Rodney of South Bend, Ind., a brother, W.J. Ingraham of Niles, Mich., and six grandchildren. He was a graduate of Williamstown High School and Marietta College where he received his bachelor's degree in chemistry. He received his master's degree in physics at West Virginia University and was a retired school teacher, having taught more than 40 years in Williamstown schools. He was known for his carpentry skills and built several homes in the area. He was a member and past master of Williamstown Lodge 129 AF & AM and a member of the West Virginia Education Association and First Presbyterian Church, Williamstown. He was born in Williamstown, a son of the late John Freel and Elnora Whitney Ingraham. He is survived by one daughter, Willa Bethe Favreau of McConnelsville; one son, John Ingraham of Fort Payne, Ala; two grandsons, Christopher John Ingraham of Fort Payne, Ala., and Ryan Daniel Favreau of McConnelsville; and three granddaughters, Lisa Gayle Ingraham and Heather Elise Ingraham, both of Fort Payne, Ala. and Megan Favreau of Winston-Salem, N.C. She was born July 22, 1907, in Cottageville, Jackson County, and was a daughter of the late Amos Westley and Virginia Gorrell Wilkinson. She was a member of St. Marya United Methodist Church and an active member of the Kindness Circle United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Pleasants County School employees. She was a graduate of West Virginia University and taught school for 45 years, having retired from St. Marys High School in 1972. She was a member of the St. Marys Chapter 31 Order of the Eastern Star where she had served as an organist for many years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She is survived by her husband, L.P. (Horse) Ingram; two daughters, Mrs. Merle (Suzanne) Rouse of St. Marys and Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Kaysar of Newport, Ohio; a son, L. Paul Ingram of Vienna; five grandsons; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He received a B.S. in business administration from Marietta College and a M.A. in business administration from Ohio University, Athens. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the State of Ohio American Legion, Master of Bartlett Grange, Washington County Pavnona Grange, Deputy Master of Ohio State Grange, 0809 National Grange, Scenic Hills Lions Club of Barlow, Tunnel United Methodist Church, Marietta, Boy Scout Troop 216 committee member and merit badge instructor. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann White Ingram; two sons, Jeff Ingram and wife Carol, of Vincent, and Jim Ingram and his wife Courtney, of Gahanna; one sister, Irma Matthews and husband, T.P., of Eatonton, Ga.; one granddaughter, Haley Ingram of Gahanna; several nieces and nephews; and one special nephew, Cary Anthony Maybury, who made his home with the Ingrams. He was born March 10, 1897, in St. Marys to William and Dora Reynolds Ingram. He was a driller of oil and gas wells. He was a member of the Church of God in Wooster and a 65 year member of the Masonic Lodge in St. Marys. He moved to Wooster in 1954. Survivors include his wife, Marion Kern Ingram; one brother, Wanless of Coraopolis, Pa.; one sister, Mahala Ingram of Chester; several nieces and nephews. Ingram was a graduate of Washington Irving High School and Davis and Elkins college. He was a member of St. Marys Lodge No. 41 AF&AM where he was a past master and past secretary, Parkersburg Scottish Rite Bodies, OES Chapter 31 St. Marys, and Nemesis Temple Shrine. He taught and coached in Raleigh County for 12 years, came to St. Marys in 1944 serving as a coach and teacher. He retired in 1956 as a coach and became assistant principal, later retiring in 1973 as principal of St. Marys High School. He was a member if the Pleasants County Retired Teachers Association. In 1989 he was named retired coach of the year by the West Virginia Coaches Association. He was a member of St. Marys United Methodist Church, where he was a former Sunday School teacher. He was born in Salem, W.Va., a son of the late Michael Clark and Anna Kirchner Ingram. He is survived by two daughters, Merle "Suzanne" Rouse of St. Marys and Margaret Kayser of Newport, Ohio; one son, L.Paul Ingram II of Vienna; five grandsons, Jay Taylor of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Andy Ingram and Jeremy Ingram, both of Vienna, Edward A. Kayser of Newport, Ohio, and David Rouse of Alexandria, Va.; two granddaughters, Betsy Rouse and Marcia Rouse, both of St. Marys; and one brother, Leonard Ingram of Ridgeway, Pa. Corbin Ingram; one son, Donald Ingram of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Shelby Leffel of Franklin, O.; one brother, Creed Ingram of St. Marys; one sister, Jessie Drummond of Xenia, O.; four grandsons; one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Dotson, her step-mother, who was a real mother to her (no name given), three brothers, Ray, Harry, and Commodore Dotson, one sister, Mrs. Garnet Cox and a host of relatives and friends. Her mother preceded her to the Great Beyond about 28 years ago. She united with the Church of Christ at this place twelve years ago under the preaching of Bro. L.S. White of Dallas, Texas. (Published Feb. 27, 1926, source unknown, no further details given.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ISRAEL, MARY ALICE, daughter of William A. and Leah Wilson, born Sept. 30, 1868, departed this life, Monday , May 26, 1924, being in her 56th year. She was married to William S. Israel April 17, 1891, unto this union eight children, four sons and four daughters were born. One son, Blakely at the age of 12 years, preceded her to the spirit world. Three sons, Guy E. of Casey, Ill., Fremont, of Parkersburg, and Delbert H.; four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle B. Whaley, Mrs. Marie Willis, Mrs. Rubenia Kuntz, and Miss Hazel C. Israel, all of St. Marys, survive her. She obeyed the gospel early in life and was a member of the Church of Christ at Mt. Zion. Moved to St. Marys in 1912 and since has become a member here. She was a woman of strong religious convictions. She sustained a reputation of faithfulness where she obeyed the gospel. Her afflictions hindered her from the enjoyment of public worship in the last several years. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, a ...... friend. She leaves five brothers, Ralph, Lucretia, Jefferson, Robert and Alton Wilson. One brother, Silas, having gone ...... husband, seven children, ..... children, and a host ........ relatives and friends to mourn their loss. We mourn, not as those who have no hope. We believe that mother sleeps that blessed sleep. And sacredly her blest memory we'll keep. All her children owe it to their mother's God To walk the heavenly way that she hath trod. Her labor of faith and love as well expressed Impel her children to rise up and call her blessed. Dots mean portions missing.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ IVEY, JOHN A. 54, Sardis, O., died last Wednesday (13 Feb. 1980) at Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, following an apparent heart attack. He was an employee of the Ormet Corp. at Hannibal and a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and the United Steel Workers of America Local 5760. He was a veteran of World War II. He was born April 24, 1925, at Seymour, Tenn., to Alger and Pauline Keener Ivey. Surviving are his wife, Marie Hill Ivey; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Regina) Klug of Sardis and Denise Ivey of the home; three sons, John of Memphis, Tenn., David of Sardis and Kenneth of the home; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Opal) Bullard of Knoxville, Tenn.; three brothers, Charles of Sevierville, Tenn., Edgar of Marysville, Tenn., and Carlos of Colorado; and nine grandchildren. Services were held Friday at the Rush Funeral Home at Sardis. The Rev. Richard Wilson officiated, and burial was in the Sardis Cemetery.
