She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Pennsville, the XYZ Club for Senior Citizens, the Philathea Bible Class and the Eastern Stars of Penns Grove, N.J. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Carroll of St. Marys, and is survived by a son, Robert E. Jack, and two grandchildren of Pennsville. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Harrisville Church of Christ and had been employed for many years by Economy Industries of Harrisville. She is survived by two sons, Norville W. "Bud" Jackson of St. Marys and Robert Lee Jackson of Harrisville; three brothers, Pearley Bunner of Harrisville, Virgil Bunner of Ellenboro and Perry "Jack" Bunner of Cairo; five sisters, Ruby Kimble, Stella Davis and Donna Kerns all of Harrisville, Juanita Varner of Cairo, and Leola Verner of Parkersburg; and four grandchildren. He concluded his career as an electrician at Colin Anderson Center, St. Marys. Surviving are his wife, Madge Virginia Wallace Jay; one son, Robert S. Jay of St. Marys; two daughters, Sally Henry of Denver and Linda Pease of Reno, Nev.; one brother, William Parker Jay of Good Hope; and four grandchildren. She was a graduate of St. Marys High School and Mountain State Business College in Parkersburg. She was a member of St. Marys United Methodist Church where she served on committees, taught Sunday School in her earlier years, and was a member of the Love Circle. She was a member of the United Methodist Women where she served on various committees. She was an active member of the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Pleasants County Senior Citizens, the Pleasants County Retired School Service Personnel and the Pleasants County Historical Society. In her earlier years she was employed in the offices of Hiram A. Carpenter and C. Ross Williamson Insurance Agency and then as a secretary at Dinsmoor Oil Co. for a number of years. Later she was a secretary for the Pleasants County Board of Education at St. Marys Elementary School and then Belmont Elementary School from where she retired. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Paul L. (Mary Jemison) Riggs of Parkersburg and Mrs. Kenneth (Elizabeth Jemison) Graves of Scottsdale, Ariz.; eight nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. The truck was being drive by Lester Poole who was going down First Street at very moderate speed. A number of children including the victim were at play at the point mentioned, as the truck was passing them two or more of them attempted to jump on the rear. Marie in some way was caught by the rear wheel which threw her in front of it and passed over her body. She died almost instantly. The funeral will be held at 2:30 on Friday afternoon, and interment will be made in the St. Marys Cemetery. He retired after 35 years from Brooklyn High School as a coach and athletic director. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann Talbot Joy; one brother, Herman Joy of North Royalton, O.; one sister, Wavolene Murray of St. Marys; one nephew, Alan Murray; four nieces, Alesia Murray Snider, Libby Murray Eans, Kristen Joy Mayell and Kelly Joy Farris; and four great-nephews.
