She was born in Wheeling to the late Hilton H. and Minnie SCHAFER MANN. She was a graduate of Graysville High School and Ohio University. She was a retired school teacher in Monroe and Washington Counties and was a member of the Rinard Mills United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harry W. ULLMAN; two sons, Lester E. ULLMAN and Robert L. ULLMAN, both of Rinard Mills; and two grandchildren, Linda ULLMAN and Laura ULLMAN both of Rinard Mills. She was preceded in death by two infant sons. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. today at Rinard Mills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard WILSON officiating. ULLMAN, 102 of 702 Fourth St., New Matamoras, died at 4:15 p.m., Friday. She was born Oct. 29, 1885 at Bloomfield to Braide and Lydia KNOWLTON PAYNE. She was a member of Rinard Mills United Methodist Church and the ladies Bible class of Matamoras Baptist Church. She was married June 14, 1905 to William H. ULLMAN, who died Nov. 1, 1958; one brother, Ernest ULLMAN; and three sisters, May POULTON, Pearl MILLS, and Ethel GARDNER. She is survived by two sons, Harry ULLMAN of Rinard Mills, and Ralph ULLMAN of Graysville; one daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Olive) POOL of Matamoras; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was born May 07, 1909 in Ludlow Township, Washington County to Samuel and Chloe JOHNSON SMITH. She was a 1927 graduate of Ludlow Township High School and a 1932 graduate of Muskingham College. She was employed in the Ludlow and Newport Township elementary schools for 20 years. She had also been employed by Newport Post Office and was a file clerk and bookkeeper for Newport Lumber Co. for 10 years. She was a 4-H club leader for 15 years. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ at Harriettsville, the Zion Ladies Guild, the Bethel Homemakers Club, Ludlow Alumni Association, Masterson Chapter O.E.S. No. 584 and past Worthy Matron of Matamoras Chapter No. 261. On Aug. 18, 1945 she married Jesse M. YONALLY, who preceded her in death September 28, 1958. On Feb. 21, 1968 she married Roy R. ULLMANN, who preceded her in death Feb. 28, 1980. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Cecil S. He was born in Friendly, youngest son of the late James Homer and Estelle LIVINGSTON UMPLEBY. He spent most of his life in Parkersburg, where he was employed for 29 years as a salesman for Broughton's Dairy. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Daisy WILSON UMPLEBY; four daughters, Eunice Isabelle UMPLEBY of Charleston; Beth MATLACK of Granby, Conn., Rhonda HAMMOND of Auburn, Ga.; and Ellen Ann GLASSFORD of Alpharetta, Ga.; one son, Michael UMPLEBY of Davisville, and five grandchildren, Nadia RADZYMINSKI of Cannes, France, Molly HA??MOND of Waterford, VA.; and Amee Erin and Andrew MATLACK of Granby, Conn. He retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132 in Charleston. He worked in construction for the past 52 years. He had been employed by the Ranney Water Systems of Columbus. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the former IOOF Lodge in Waverly and a member of the Bonds Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Ellenboro. UNDERWOOD Died: Feb. 23, 1983 Word has been received here of the death of Clarence L. UNDERWOOD, 86, of 4821 Kaye Road, Memphis, Tenn., Feb. 23 in the Baptist Hospital there. A native of Tyler County, he later moved to St. Mary's and graduated from St. Marys High School in the class of 1914. He continued in the field of education, receiving his B.A. in chemistry and education at West Virginia University, his master's degree from Ohio State and his doctorate from the University of Pittsburg. He taught at Glenville State College before moving on to Memphis State University, from which he retired after teaching there for 17 years. He was a retired lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Army, having served in both World War I and World War II, and was a member of the Buntyn Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He was active in Masonic work, holding over 50-year membership in each of the following Masonic bodies: St. Mary's Lodge 41, AF&AM, Tyrian Royal Arch Chapter 13, Charleston, Kanawha Commandry No. 4, Charleston and Beni Kedam Shrine Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Charleston. He was also a member of the Sojourner Club #414 at Millington Tenn., an organization for commissioned officers of the Armed Forces who are Masons. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Mary's, a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy and was a pipe fitter at Quaker State Refinery.
